The Frothy Five: Beer in Boulder’s Weekly Craft Brewery Events

We’re saying a big happy birthday to multiple Boulder County craft breweries in this week’s Frothy Five presented by Beer in Boulder! From longstanding Boulder staples to new and exciting breweries, every craft brewery anniversary and birthday is a celebration of and testament to the innovative and thriving craft culture of our county. Cheers to many more!

Here are Beer in Boulder’s picks for five unique, not-to-miss Boulder County craft brewery events happening this week.

Breakfast and Beer with the Bombers at 300 Suns Brewing Company

Saturday, July 16th, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Move over, Wheaties, because 300 Suns Brewing Company is fulfilling our Boulder County breakfast fantasies in Longmont this Saturday, July 16th, and giving us a new “breakfast of champions!” Beginning at 10:00 AM, patrons can stop by for a Beermosa, a Bloody Beer, a coffee beer cocktail, or a brew (all taps will be open!) along with a delicious burrito from Hefe’s in Longmont. Kids are welcome (although they’ll obviously be sticking with OJ) and there will also be a silent auction. The event will likewise have guest bartenders from the Boulder County Bombers, our county’s very own women’s roller derby league.

While ticket sales have closed for this particular event, be sure to stay updated on all future unique and fun 300 Suns happenings on their website.

37h_Beer_Menu_Pub37th Anniversary Celebration at Boulder Beer Company

Saturday, July 16th, from 12:00 – 10:00 PM

What can we say about Boulder’s first craft brewery? From the wonderfully fun and vibrant space itself, the expansive outdoor patio, the generous beer taster flights, their history of pushing craft beer boundaries with hoppy, creative brews, and of course those delicious year-round and seasonal, special release beers themselves, Boulder Beer Company is flat out a Boulder staple and icon.

This Saturday, celebrate Boulder Beer’s 37th anniversary with a day full of live music (headlined by Mama Magnolias), food, activities, and much more. From the outdoor beer garden, which will feature special rare and experimental brews such as the Caribbean Queen, a pineapple wheat ale, and the Spikeberry Saison, a prickly pear saison, amongst many others, to cheese pairings to memorabilia to special grill food menu items and more, this is quite simply a not-to-miss Boulder event.

Second Anniversary Party at Finkel & Garf Brewing Company

Saturday, July 16th, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM

What started as a collaborative project between a craft beer-loving father and son duo here in Boulder is now celebrating their second anniversary this Saturday afternoon. A brewery that emphasizes and cherishes not only delicious craft beer, but also the life experiences and moments experienced with said craft beer in hand, Finkel & Garf is an exciting Boulder brewery making its mark on the local craft brew scene.

On Saturday, stop by the Finkel & Garf taproom for the release of their newest beer, an Imperial Rye IPA, swag giveaways, live music, tacos, cotton candy, and much more. A special limited amount of their Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout will also be on tap, so be sure not to miss it!

El Gose cansEl Gose Beer Release Party at Avery Brewing Company

Sunday, July 17th, from 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

It just wouldn’t be summertime in Boulder without a new year-round beer release from Avery Brewing Company. This Sunday, celebrate the release of El Gose, which will be available both on draft in the taproom and in six-packs. A traditional gose beer, the El Gose is a delicious combination of zest, citrus, and a hint of salt, that promises to be a staple summer beer here in Boulder. Also featuring a new addition to Avery’s classic collection of vibrant and creative beer label artwork, El Gose is a tart and sour treat.

This release party will likewise feature a special Spanish and German fusion dining menu with items such as the Steak Schnitzel Torta and Das Chorizo Pretzel Dog, and promises to be a unique event for both you and your taste buds!

Courage Classic Fundraiser at Pumphouse Brewery

All Day on Tuesday, July 19th

Longstanding Longmont staple Pumphouse Brewery is hosting a fundraiser throughout the day on July 19th to benefit the annual Courage Classic, a two-day bike ride beginning and ending near Copper Mountain happening this year on July 23rd and 24th. This is the seventh consecutive year that Pumphouse’s “Team Kick Cancer’s Ass” will take part in this amazing ride, benefiting Children’s Hospital Colorado, that spans over 150 miles and three mountain passes.
