The Frothy Five: Beer in Boulder’s Weekly Craft Brewery Events

Cheers to the second edition of the Frothy Five presented by Beer in Boulder! We hope that you’ve been enjoying the summer weather and all the refreshing craft wheat beers, lagers, and saisons that have accompanied it. This week plays host to a variety of beer releases, street fairs, and live music to brighten your days even further and give you a true taste of summertime in Boulder. Here are Beer in Boulder’s five picks for unique happenings throughout Boulder County craft breweries this week.

Sagebrush Wheat Beer Release with Wild Woods Brewery

On Tap Now!

Sagebrush gets a bad rap sometimes. It isn’t just an allergy-inducing desert shrub. Instead, it’s actually an often vibrant and aromatic plant in unnamed (1)the daisy family with beautiful yellow flowers that smell even better after a swift summer rainstorm.

Wild Woods Brewery strives to create brews that are reminiscent of some of their favorite experiences in nature, whether that be hiking along the treeline, stumbling across a meadow full of flowers, or sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows with family and friends. With popular year-round beers ranging from the Treeline IPA to the Campfire Red Ale and Smores Stout, and special seasonal releases like the recent Oaked Sorachi IPA and Summer Mild, Wild Woods continues this tradition with their Sagebrush Wheat, part of their Switchback Series of beers. This crisp and herbal beer was tapped yesterday and is available on draft in the Wild Woods taproom now!

Pints with a Purpose at Twisted Pine Brewing Company

Friday, June 24th, from 12:00 – 11:00 PM

One of the longest standing breweries here in Boulder, Twisted Pine Brewing Company is not only a purveyor of delicious, highly lauded craft beers, but also a huge proponent of supporting the local Boulder community.

Each month, Twisted Pine holds a Pints with a Purpose event for which they select a local non-profit organization to spotlight and donate a portion of each beer sold on that day to their cause. This month, Twisted Pine is highlighting the work of Brave Young Hearts, an organization that grants children with terminal and life-threatening illnesses the chance to experience adventures to lift their spirits and achieve both normalcy and excitement in their lives. Be sure to stop by this afternoon to support and raise a glass to this great cause!

Vision Quest Brewery is one of Boulder’s newest craft breweries, having officially opened with a grand opening party in December 2015. This Saturday, stop by after 3:00 PM to sample some of the twelve, that’s right, TWELVE, new beers they will be releasing. The beers range wildly in style and flavor, from a Coffee Chocolate Rye Brown to a Tangerine Wheat to a Coconut IPA to a Juicy Hot Habanero Wheat and much more, and there will be great food and music to enjoy as well.

Live Music with Lindsey Saunders at Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company

Saturday, June 25th, from 8:00 – 10:00 PM

Supporting local artists is intrinsically woven into the Boulder County craft beer scene, and this often takes the form of live music events at local breweries. Just this week alone Boulderites will be treated to the talents of over 30 artists and groups at live music events happening in Boulder’s taprooms!

One such taproom is at Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company in Lafayette, who is hosting the insanely talented Lindsey Saunders on Saturday beginning at 8:00 PM. Stop by to enjoy her performance with a delicious craft beer in hand (the Peanut Butter Porter is incredible) and to nibble on food from the Knock on Wood food truck.
