Here are Beer in Boulder’s picks for five of the most noteworthy craft brewery events happening throughout Boulder County this week.

Lagers and Lumber: Benefiting “The House That Beer Built” at Wibby Brewing Company

Saturday, July 2nd, from 2:00 – 10:00 PM

Longmont’s community of craft breweries is truly a force to be reckoned with. In the spirit of collaboration and supporting their community, nine local Longmont breweries have teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley to construct “The House That Beer Built.” A work in progress, this home will directly benefit residents of the Longmont community, and these breweries are continuing to raise funds for the project through events such as this Lagers and Lumber event happening this Saturday. Enjoy music, food, craft beer from various local breweries, and some of Wibby Brewing Company’s lauded lagers, at this fun and meaningful event.

Red, Wit & Blue Beer Release & Fireworks Show Viewing at Fate Brewing Company

Monday, July 4th

Let your patriotic flag fly and celebrate Independence Day at Fate Brewing Company this year! Fate Brewing is a wonderful Boulder staple where you can find delicious bites throughout the day from brunch through dinner and, of course, amazing craft beer. The brewery and restaurant will be bustling and the beer will be flowing all day on Monday, as Fate will be tapping their annual Red, Wit & Blue Specialty Beer Release. Fate will also be playing host to one of the best views of the Boulder fireworks show, which should begin at about 9:40 PM.

Four on the Fourth 4K logo 2Four on the Fourth 4k at Avery Brewing Company

Monday, July 4th, at 9:00 AM

Fourth of July Weekend screams sunshine, barbecues, and clinking glasses with your closest friends. What better place to partake than at one of the most popular and innovative breweries here in Boulder, Avery Brewing Company?

Earn the hot dogs, burgers, and beer you’re sure to consume with Avery’s 4k race beginning at 9:00 AM (packet pick-up is from 7:00 – 8:30 AM). Be sure to give it your all, as the overall winners for both men and women will receive their weight in Avery beer! The race will be followed by a party with, per Avery’s signature style, a ton of great food and brews for you to enjoy.

You can still register for the event here, so it’s not too late to start doing some high knees and hamstring stretches in preparation for a day of sprinting, sipping, and celebrating.

Open Bluegrass Pick at Longs Peak Pub and Taphouse

Wednesday, July 6th, at 7:00 PM

Bluegrass has historically been an integral part of Boulder County’s music scene, and it continues to thrive and act as a creative common ground for many of Boulder’s local artists and musicians. Boulder’s craft breweries are likewise longstanding supporters of the bluegrass genre and all the local artists that partake and thrive within it.

On Wednesday nights at the Longs Peak Pub and Taphouse, the newest of the Mountain Sun family of pubs and breweries, there is a standing Open Bluegrass Pick event when local artists can gather to jam together, much to the benefit of the pub’s patrons. Don’t miss out on listening in on some of the most quintessential sounds of summer here in Boulder at these events.

Euchre Night at Bootstrap Brewing Company

Wednesday, July 6th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Here at Beer in Boulder, some of our fondest memories of Fourth of July Weekend consist of campgrounds, campfires, and sitting around a picnic table playing cards with family and friends. Whether it was rummy, pitch, spit, or hearts, card games are a staple of summer weekends for us and, here in Boulder, many of our county’s craft breweries embrace that tradition too.

Wednesday nights are Euchre nights at Bootstrap Brewing Company in Niwot. With chances to win free beer and a line-up of varied and delicious craft brews, Bootstrap is the place to be to gather with friends, get your competitive juices flowing, and get dealt your lucky hand.
